Conflict is the Heart of Drama

Conflict lies at the heart of drama. It’s what makes a story thrilling, compelling, and necessary. We must see the protagonist through the conflict so that we can share in their victory. When they win, we feel their relief and fulfillment.

But conflict rarely feels compelling in our own lives. In fact, some people try to avoid it at all costs. On the other hand, some people fight everything and everyone. Most people are out of balance with conflict and the purpose it gives to life.

But, you have to pick your fights. There are external conflicts (such as with other people or with the world). And there are internal conflicts (such as overcoming your inherent limitations). We call internal conflicts “blocks.” Confronting and resolving blocks are how we develop personally and spiritually. In fact, external conflicts are only a materialization of unrecognized internal conflict.

One Conflict is the Heart of Your Story

There is one conflict in your life that is preventing you from reaching your goal. Your life destination. Your ultimate achievement. This conflict is the heart of your story. In fact, all your conflicts are subplots of this one overarching, infuriating theme. Each fight lost with this conflict spirals you down into tragedy. But successfully overcoming this conflict creates your happy ending.

It’s not easy. There will be losses and pain. Things might change. Forever. And no, you can’t change it in a day.

One Heartbeat to Say Now or Never!

But you know what? This is the secret to everything: it doesn’t take one week or one month or one year to overcome your conflict. It takes one tick of the second hand. The knock of one single, solitary heartbeat. It’s the moment you say, “No more!” It’s the moment you recognize that all will be gone forever unless you finally take a stand. The moment you look your conflict in the eye and say, “You’re on!”

This is the most important moment of your story. This one moment stops the spiral of failures and sets you firmly on the course to your ending. At the moment you make this choice, you no longer are worried about whether you will win or lose. You only know that you can’t live any longer under this tyranny. You’re willing to risk it all. You can’t see the outcome. But you are finally willing to see what’s blocking your way.

And introduces you to the helper that will guide you through the dark woods. Heart of the Dark Woods helps you clear the brambles from your heart, the core of who you are. It gives you your courage. Where you go from there is up to you!

Write Your Success Story

• There’s never a one-size-fits-all answer in my workshops. Instead, we start with the astrological chart. As a result, your resolution is unique to you.
• We’ll start by identifying the block and what reinforces it as expressed in your perfectly-you natal chart.
• The next step will be to identify the helper and what supports it as found in the natal chart.
• Each step of the way, we’ll revisualize what we discover in the natal chart using the storytelling images of the tarot.
• Ultimately we’ll arrive at the primary metaphor for the interaction between the block and the helper. Does the guide lead the block out of the woods? Make a home for it in the cool shade? Teach it? Heal it? Love it? Kick it to the curb? Your chart combined with the cards will tell the story!
• Once we understand the block in the context of its unique story, we can confidently walk though the story to its resolution. We’ll support and ease this process with energetic healing techniques.
• The process provides a variety of spiritual and healing tools unique to you. Use them as little or as much as needed to achieve and maintain your success story.

I’ve repeatedly discovered with clients that their blocks are their foundational strengths. So by confronting head-on something that you feel is holding you back, you just might find a launching pad to blast off into your best self.

Workshop Details

This is an online, workshop held via Zoom over two half days. The two sessions occur on the 1st and 3rd Sunday in December. The time in-between gives you a chance to complete, work with, and integrate the first day’s material before moving on to the next step.

An online course archive will include relevant support materials, which may include such things as class recordings, handouts, mp3 meditations, pdfs of instructional guides, helpful links, and other relevant resources as needed.
